I painted this from a picture his mother gave me in a beauty salon on 27th Ave in Miami FL. I was starting to explore the oil media which had before inspired me too much respect to attempt it before.

It took me awhile to finish it. When I went to deliver it, she no longer worked there and I was unable to locate her. That taught me a lesson but I didn't care because I enjoyed painting Tony so much and I lost my fear of painting with oils.
